gpu unlock supported GPUs: the model name is not the key

The gpu-unlock supported GPUs list is keyed by device ID, not by model name, so two cards with the same name can sit on different dies and only one of them is in the whitelist. All 87 IDs from the reviewed cards[] list are below; filter by family, status or device ID, and the URL never changes.

Family counts and support status: [official README]. The gpu-unlock supported GPUs list above copies all 87 IDs from cards[] in the reviewed project revision. GA100 and GA107 are absent from that list rather than omitted here; their notes come from the source and open pull requests, not from a merged recipe.

What a supported card is worth with gpu unlock

Presence in the gpu-unlock supported GPUs list decides whether the module will run, not how much you get. That depends on your workload and your power limit, and no percentage is repeated here — the numbers live on one page so they cannot drift apart.

Three gpu unlock table mistakes to avoid

  • Reading the model name instead of the ID — GA104 and GA106 both ship as an RTX 3060, and only the device ID tells gpu-unlock which one you have.
  • Assuming a family means support — GA100 is defined in the source and has no device IDs at all, so gpu-unlock has nothing to match.
  • Trusting a community patch — GA107 results are reported, not merged, so a standard gpu-unlock install will not act on them.

[official README] for the whitelist; the third line comes from the open pull requests.

Find your device ID, then install gpu unlock

shell
lspci -nn | grep -i nvidia
# 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation ... [10de:2487] (rev a1)

In the table? Then the next page is the gpu-unlock install order. Not sure how to read the brackets? One command prints it.
